SOLIDARITY UNION NETWORK – TECH WORKER READING GROUP

Many tech workers imagine a radically different workplace.
But the path forward can seem murky.

We are gathering to read Unions of Our Own by Daniel Gross to illuminate the path together.
Sign up now.

The new book offers a step by-step framework for workers to design and iterate unions that meet their needs, honor their values, and advance broad visions of change.

In this virtual reading group, tech workers will have a welcoming and caring space to make meaning of the book together and connect across workplaces. The group will be facilitated by a tech worker who is an experienced practitioner of the union model framework and 8 building blocks offered in the book. Author and veteran labor organizer Daniel Gross will pay a visit at one of the reading group sessions.

Planned 90 minutes sessions:

Session #1: Considering the union journey, intro to the union model framework, union organizing vs. union building, and key tools
Session #2: The foundational building blocks of a union of your own
Session #3: The structure and growth building blocks

Space is limited, register today to hold your spot and to have your availability considered in scheduling the sessions. We're aiming for summer 2026.

The reading group is open to workers in any job type (non-managerial) at a technology company including vendors and contractors to those companies. Workers in between tech jobs are welcome. SUN spaces are welcoming to all in attendance, with a prioritization of the voices and leadership of workers of color, trans, and other marginalized workers. Questions?
